Bull Proof Salt & Mineral Feeder

saltbox.jpg (35083 bytes)

We got tired of repairing wooden feeders that the bulls joyfully destroyed. This box they can not damage. We build the salt and mineral holding container out of wood so that the salt and mineral does not rust it through. We bent the legs so that the bulls can not throw the feeder over, we added the skids for the same reason. The skid also makes it easier to load and move around if we need to place it somewhere else. One man can pick it up on one side and walk it (or drag it) into a stock trailer. We made 4 of these feeders out of a 5 by 10 foot and two 4 by 8 foot sheets of  14 gauge sheeting. The frame is 2 inch 0.125 (or 0.100) wall pipe. They are 4 feet wide and 2.5 feet deep. This picture is after 4 years of use.

Here is a page with the plans for building this mineral feeder.
